trouble viewing recorded dvd's

I have been having problems viewing dvd's that I have previously recorded.
All original dvd's play fine with the players installed. The copies I
make/have made, all play erratically, and freeze in about a half hour into
the movie. This happens in any of the programs I try to view them in. It
first started sometime after the SP1 update. I have tried most everything to
include a complete recovery of my computer. I am running xp home edition on a
Toshiba, with a toshiba sd-r6012. Any help would be appreciated. Thanks.

This did not help. The DVD's used to play fine. Now they freeze up in a half
an our or less. Sometimes I gedt the message:"_______has encountered a
problem and needs to close" Then asking if I want to report the problem to
microsoft. Reporting comes back with no info. Thanks for the help. Brad
