DVD Sound Playback Problem

D

Daz

I have just found that the sound won't play, on my pc, from DVDs recorded on
my Mikomo video recorder. The picture is fine, but no sound. Sound plays OK
from recordings made on previous DVD recorders.

Sound is OK when viewing the same Mikomo recordings on my Toshiba laptop.

To summarise, the DVDs are finalized and play OK on both my laptop and my
DVD recorder, but no sound from my PC.

Any ideas?

Daz, is the sound working fine on your PC otherwise? Have you checked
in Control Panel>Sound and Audio Devices. Check for
muted Devices.

Thanks for reply Rich.
Yes sound is otherwise working perfectly. I have checked out the Sound and
Audio Devices and nothing is muted that shouldn't be.

I can play CDs and all DVDs sound except for DVDs recorded on my new
recorder. I can copy DVDs that won't play sound and their sound is again OK
on the recorder and laptop, but not on my PC.

Thanks for your replies.
I have now fixed the problem. After googling, I installed the XP Codec Pack
onto my pc and all works perfectly now.
