Just completed the installation of Windows XP service pack
2
Before rebooting I received a warning from an installed
package called Trojan Guarder. Indicating that I received
a Trojan called logagent.exe. I did a search on the file
and found the following

This is located as exes in various formats on my c drive
all related to Microsoft -
\windows\System 32
\windows\servicepackfiles.i386
\windows\setup files . \mplay2u.cab
\windows\softwaredownload

What is it ? Is it safe to reboot?

That's not a virus... If you delete it your system won't run right. I have
the logagent.exe on my system
and not once my Norton AV program looked at it as a virus. Good luck in
whatever you do
