Triggers and Custom Animation Help

I am trying to put together a presentation that requires the following:
Slide 1 - Contains a picture (say of a building)

Question 1 - Is there a way to hit one part of the picture (say the roof)
and bring up a slide of information and then be able to go back and click on
another part of the same picture (say the walls) to bring up a different
slide? The picture cannot be grouped or ungrouped, as this option is not
selectable.

Question 2 - I also need to be able to after bringing up the different
slides to go to another slide depending on which bulleted point I click on.
(I already created an Action Setting for home, which created a hyperlink to
the first slide).

I read all the information posted already on animation, triggers, but none
seems to be exactly what I am looking for. I had trouble opening the
samples, which were linked within the discussion pages. After trying to
unzip the files, it said "No files to extract".

In addition, it seems that when I create custom animation or action settings
it only works the first time in Slide Show view. When I try it again, it
does not work. Can you only use one (custom animation or action settings)
per slide?

So far, I have added an entrance and exit animation to the picture on slide
1. I also added action settings (one for home – to return to the picture on
slide 1, and one for Issues to return to the Issues slide – slide 2). Any
other suggestions or help would be greatly appreciated! If you need me to, I
can e-mail you the presentation if it would help.

slide? The picture cannot be grouped or ungrouped, as this option is not

You can create "hot spots." These are autoshapes with no line and no fill.
They sit on top of the parts of your building you want to click on, and you
attach the action setting or hyperlink to the hot spot shape.

You might want to give the hot spot shape a fill and make it 99% transparent
so that if someone runs your presentation in the PPT Viewer 2003, it will
still work. (The Viewer doesn't like 100% transparent objects, and right now
I can't remember what it thinks about no-line/no-fill autoshapes.)

slides to go to another slide depending on which bulleted point I click
on.
(I already created an Action Setting for home, which created a hyperlink
to
the first slide).

You could use more hotspot shapes if there's more than one bullet point in
your textbox. Or you can add the hyperlink right to the text in the bullet
point. This will cause the text to be underlined, though -- dunno if that
makes a difference to you or not.

Ah. Yeah. This. It's irritating, isn't it?

Basically, when you return to a slide, PPT returns you to the *end* of the
slide. To work around it, you put a dummy slide in before the real slide,
give the dummy a 00-second automatic transition, and link back to the dummy
slide, not to the real slide.
