Got access to a boot screen hack to change it by replacing ntoskrnl.exe while in Safe Mode witih Command Prompt. Accompblished that - but I put the wrong file in - being I put in the replacement file that is programmed for XP and not XP w/service pack 1. Now I see my cool new boot screen - but the comp just keeps on cycling back into a reboot I'm guessing because it's reading a file that it shouldn't be using.
I realize I just need to flop the files back around in Safe Mode with Command Prompt or put in the original which I backed up elsewhere on the hd but when I try and access the Safe Mode witih Command Prompt it also decides to reboot before the command prompt comes up. If you watch while it starts up in Safe Mode the first file it starts with is the one I changed - ntoskrnl.exe
HELP!

Hi Noah,

Check with the boot screen hackers. Good luck!

Noah, this KB article isn't specifically for your problem, but the end
result is replacing ntoskrnl.exe.
