Won't boot after changing boot screen

I have Windows XP on a Dell Laptop. I changed out the boot
screen yesterday using the instructions included that
modified the boot.ini file. The instructions were such
that you were prompted to select whether you wanted the
original boot screen or the new one when the computer
starts up.

Now, with either choice I get the new boot screen and then
black... nothing... zip. I've tried booting into safe
mode, but that doesn't work either. Help?
