If I order a trial version of front page 2003 and do some work with it, will I be able to upload to server? --I am a beginner and needing web design software--want to be sure that I am able to use it before purchasing update 2003. I already have microsoft office installed

Thanks

If you can get a trial version it should function same as the "regular" but
be time limited.

since you seem to know something we don't. why not tell Dorothy exactly
what she's in for. I'm sure we would all be glad to have your information.
I see where you gave net55 the same answer as you gave me but I don't see
the "facts" in your posts. Please enlighten us.

Dorothy,

According to this page:
http://www.microsoft.com/office/frontpage/prodinfo/trial.mspx

"How to Upgrade from the Trial Version

When the trial period ends, FrontPage 2003 will go into reduced
functionality mode. You can convert the trial software into perpetual
use without removing or reinstalling software on your computer. Obtain
FrontPage 2003 at any retailer and enter the valid product key when
prompted during setup."

Based on that description, it sounds to me that it should be fully
functional during the 30 day trial.

It's nice to see that if you decide to purchase the software that the
retail key can be used to activate the trial version saving you from
having to uninstall/reinstall, change your settings, etc.

You might want to take a look at the Online Evaluation. You won't have
to buy anything, just install a client which will let you connect to
another computer that has FrontPage installed. Kind of an easy way to
check out the interface, but I don't think you will be able to do "real"
work with it:

I have been using the trial version for nearly a month and it has worked great. I have uploaded two versions of a site I am working on without a problem. The trial version appears to be a fully functional and when your trial period runs out it runs in reduced mode if and until you upgrade

People on this fourm have been very helpful with answers to my questions and nasty comments are not helpful. If there is information to share it would benificial to all if specific information was provided instead of nasty remarks.

joe "this week",

I know a lot about the Constitution, I even know how to spell it.

The point is you can, if you desire, contribute in a constructional manner without being rude - or maybe you will just go away.

You can even ignore my posts if you want.

Chris is right. the only real difference between the 30 day tried and the
full version is that after 30 days it won't work. Until the 30 days are up
it is the same program.

if someone knows differently they should "enlighten" all of us.

thanks for the validation Cheryl. I trust your experience more than an
unnamed and previously unknown visitor to the group. ;-)
