transferring photos to a compact flash

Hi all
I hope you can help me as I am getting really frustrated.
I would like to transfer photos to a compact flash card from files i have in
a folder on my computer.I have selected the files i want then selacted copy
files to my correct drive with the flash card inserted into my hp
printer. Some of the photos have transferred but for some reason others will
not.The message that comes up says.......cannot copy:cannot find the
specified path.
Make sure you specify the correct path.........What does this
mean and why do some photos copy ok and some don't as they are all jpeg.
Thankyou for any suggestions

Rename one of the files that will not transfer to a name with up to eight
characters, such as poabcfdg.jpg (assuming jpeg files.)
Some camera memory cards use a formatting type that will not accept long
file names.
Another issue can be that the picture files are in a desktop folder instead
of a subdirectory on the C: drive. This is confusing, but a major difference
seems to be the length of the directory tree structure used to get to the
file. On my system, C:\Documents and Settings\user\My Documents\My Pictures
from the desktop.
You might also try using C:\pictures as a subdirectory for transfer, and see
if that helps.
