I head a volunteer group and have a spreadsheet with the
volunteer hours for each person saved on my laptop, but I
need it on my desktop, which doesn't have Excel. What can
I do.

Hi Bob

but I would assume the OP had expected a different answer <vbg>

Do you have a copy of MS Works on your desktop machine?

If it's a simple workbook, with the data on a single sheet, you may be
able to open it in MS Works.

Lucas,

If you don't need to edit the file but just view or print
use Microsoft Excel Viewer from the Microsoft downloads
site. http://www.microsoft.com/downloads/details.aspx?

you can create a table and copy in Excel data to it.

Hi Lucas,
Buying a copy for your PC is the best solution
If this is not possible, buying Works is next best.
Finally in desperation, for free, download OpenOffice. The CALC part of this
works with most Excel workbooks. See
http://www.openoffice.org/product/calc.html
I don't agree with the tone of this suggestion. OpenOffice Calc is
actually quite good, and using it is not an act of desperation, and is
a much better idea than trying to use Works to look at Excel
spreadsheets. Calc will probably work fine for a simple timesheet.
Another possibility, if all that is needed is to view the spreadsheet
and print it on the desktop, is the free Excel Viewer (no editing
capability)
