I am having a problem exporting my mail messages from Outlook Express 5 or
Outlook 2000, (yes I know they are pretty old versions) on an older laptop
to Windows Mail in Vista on a new laptop.
If I run the export in OE 5, the first problem is I do not know what the
export file is called and where it is located. I can move the mail folder
files (.dbx) to a separate hard drive that I can connect to either machine.
The problem is that when I try to do the import in Vista, it only gives me 4
options, none of which is OE 5. There is an Outlook option, but I get an
error message saying that "Messages cannot be imported from the MAPI
client".
I have successfully transfer my contacts from the old laptop and Windows
mail does work from the new laptop with my email account. All I need to do
is transfer my older messages so that I don't lose them.
Any ideas would be greatly appreciated.
Thanks,
