Tranferring files from old computer to new one

I just bought a new computer with XP Home, and want to transfer files from old unit (Win 95) to new. Both have NIC cards, as I have RoadRunner cable internet. I bought the correct? crossover cable(it says use only to link 2 computers to each other). XP seems to automatically comfigure itself, but I am unable to use the NetSetup floppy on the Win 95 computer, as it only works on Win 98 and above. I need to know what settings to enter in the Win 95 Network Control Panel. Also, my Win 95 computer has File & Printer Sharing disabled(for extra internet security). I gather I will have to re-enable this(no big deal). Right now, I do not have a home network set up, but will probably in the future, as I want to use the antique for work, and the new unit for everything else.

Thanks in advance for the help-E.J.

you may try inserting your winxp cd in your win95 system.

if your cd starts automatically, click perform additional tasks, then click
on setup a home or small office network.

if it does not start automatically, double click on setup.exe at the root
directory of your winxp cd.

hope this helps.
