Toolbars in IE

I'm inundated with toolbars that get added to IE when I
surf the net. I can't find a way to remove them, or stop
them from being installed.
Any general advice on protecting my CPU settings from
being messed with would be great.

I use Ad-Aware and Spybot Search & Destroy to remove that sort of thing
from my system. Of course you can also right click anywhere in the tool
bar to disable any toolbar feature.
