Too much time in logging

Hi,
I am having one problem which I could not make out. Please suggest me.
The problem likes this...

I am using Windows XP Professional with Novell Client for XP as Server is
Novell.
When I try to log in, it takes too much time for the desktop to be loaded. I
have tried by uninstalling Novell Client. Then also to log in to the local
computer, it takes too much time approx. 2-3 minutes for desktop to be
loaded. I have tried disabling the startup programs also. Then also the
result is same.

My customer is a bank. So I can not uninstall Windows.

Please Suggest me for this problem.

how is it setup, does it use DHCP or manual config, it coould be that its
taking too long to connect to network and not an actual computer fault but a
network fault.
