Too Many Default Email Accounts

I have set up 5 email accounts in Windows mail. All of them appear as
'default' in the 'accounts' menu and I cannot seem to choose just one email
account as default.

As a side-effect, every time I send a mail from one of these accounts, the
mail is recieved 5 times by the reciepient.

any ideas?

I've never seen more than one default mail account!
Any possibility that some of the multiple accounts are duplicates
of each other? The side-effect you mentioned would lend credence
to the theory that Windows Mail sees all 5 accounts as duplicates.
