TOC page numbers are not lining up??

I have a Table of Contents based on using the Header 1, Header 2 commands
identifying the various sections. The TOC when assembled lines up the
reference page numbers on the right side but indents differently from the
right margin for each header type. I want all the numbers to be aligned
together from the right margin....frustrated....

Somehow the TOC 1 and TOC 2 Styles must have been changed. Select one of
the entries in the Table of Contents that has the misaligned page number and
drag the paragraph indent marker on the ruler to the required position.

Changing the paragraph indent marker will not affect the position of the
page number, however; it's the right-aligned tab stop that must be moved.

Actually, if from the References tab in Word 2007, you select Table of
Contents and then Manual Table, the dummy Table of Contents that is inserted
into an empty document does NOT have right aligned tab stops and you can
adjust the position of the page number by moving the right paragraph indent
marker.

That's because it uses the new "alignment tabs" in Word 2007, but earlier
versions use ordinary right-aligned tabs that are not moved when you change
the margin.
