TOC: Control distance between heading and page number

Hi!
I have some trouble setting up a TOC for my document. Some headings are
quite long causing a line break in the TOC. The first line of the heading is
running to very right margin of the TOC. Since page numbers are usually at
the right margin of the TOC this doesn't look nice. Is there any way in Word
to control the distance between the heading and the page number?

Or: I want the heading's line break 1cm before the right margin while the
page number is aligned to the right margin. I have something in mind like
this: Chapter number <tab> heading <tab with dots till 1cm before right
margin> <tab> page numbers.

Thanks.

Hi Tim,

You can right-indent the TOC paragraphs (eg 0.5in/1.25cm) and leave the
right-tab for the page numbers at the original position. Having the
paragraphs formatted as hanging, so that the text wraps inside the left
margin also, further enhances the formatting.

Cheers
