Title Bar Issue - Expert Needed

E

Elliot

I'm running IE6 and recently upgraded from ME to XP Home. Since then, the
IE title bar has been displaying only the first letter of the page title.
The Knowledge Base contains only one article on this symptom, but it relates
to IE5 and various processes that are not running on my machine.

Any help would be greatly appreciated. Thanks.

Elliot,

I think you are referring to:
http://support.microsoft.com/?kbid=225123

This problem is caused by background applications. Try a clean-boot to
isolate the problem.

Yes, that's the article. I'm afraid I'm not as knowledgeable as you've
assumed. I don't know how to do a clean-boot or how to identify the problem
app once I've done it.
