IE6 title bar displays only the first character of the page title

The title bar of my IE6 window now displays only the first character of the
title of whatever web page I am viewing.

When on ebay.com it displays "e". At TigerDirect.com it displays only "T".

What happened???

Title bar may contain garbage characters
Title bar truncated to 1 character.

Do you have the Google Desktop bar installed?
If so, try uninstalling/reinstalling it.
It has been reported to sometimes produce truncation of the title bar
text.

Uninstall/reinstall Google Desktop Search.
Uninstall/reinstall Google Toolbar.
