Tiny form input in Internet Explorer resolved

Rainy

I have had this problem for some time.. and finally in a forum, I
discovered what the problem was. I have windowblinds and it was
skinning the browser and apparently there was a conflict. I went into
windowblinds and clicked on per application and browsed to Iternet
Explorer 8 C Windows, IE8 and finally the form fields are normal size!!
Thought maybe someone else was having the same issue.. and would like to
know one possible solution.. Rainy

With WindowBlinds, the 2 solutions are:
- Uninstall it.
- Have it exclude modifying Internet Explorer.

Looks like you went for the 2nd solution. Is WindowsBlinds a dead
products? It is commercialware so it should have the funds to support
development to include updates to make it compatible with IE8 that's
been released for 3 months now (and was in beta status for around 2
years). The free-to-try (i.e., trialware) version at Cnet download.com
is shown as added to their file listing as of Feb 2009.

At http://esupport.stardock.com/index.php?_m=knowledgebase&_a=view, they
don't even have a support category for WindowBlinds. Nothing under
"Other Products", either. Looks like Stardock doesn't give you anything
for support on WindowBlinds (other than contacting them - but they don't
list WindowBlinds when opening a ticket, either).

Guess you're stuck with searching newsgroups (via Google Groups), as in:

http://groups.google.com/groups/search?q=+ie8++tiny

Or hunting through the Stardock's forums to get peer help:

http://forums.stardock.com/forum/167

The first pinned article there mentions disabling IE's advanced option
"Enable visual styles on buttons and controls in webpages". I did that
long ago. Why? Because your theme may not match whatever the web
author used (if they used one at all). Since it is possible my Windows
theme is different than the web author, I figure it's better to use the
default appearance of these controls rather than fight with the
differences in themes.
