Timing Problems

Has anyone heard the song, I've been everywhere by Johnny Cash? Well I
created a great power point presentation with pictures of all of the
different places and then at the end I have a slide with my fiance sleeping
in the passenger seat of the car and saying that she has to but she might not
remember.

Anyway, I have the music to go along with it, but it seems everytime I play
it, the timing is off by a couple of seconds. I fix it all up and then save
it close it than next time its the same problem all the time. I have the
file saved on a memory stick with the music file on there too. Im not sure
if its not starting right away, or whats going on.

If someone could help me out on this, then i could send you the file and you
could look at it.

Thanks very much.

Unfortunately music syncronisation is not one of Powerpoint's strong points.
The timing will vary on different computers and even on the same computer on
different occasions AFAIK there's no way round it. Playing from the hard
drive may be more reliable than from a memory stick

I tried playing it from the hard drive John and it was even worse. I want to
take this project and get it created into a dvd. Would the timing do you
think be acting up once they try to copy it? Becasue it seems like the
second try or third try of the presentation is better than the first attempt.

You'll probably find that the music is playing at a fairly cosistent rate but
the slide show is varying?
Maybe try and reduce the number of memory heavy transitions and animations
(fades especially) see if that helps. Sometimes helps to follow a "heavy"
slide / transition with a nice straighforward one.

It will never be totally consistent though. Sorry cant be more help
