How? Set up seperate timed recordings in one PPT presentation?

Hello Experts!
Our church is in between buildings and is presently using worship
music played on a CD player along with using a laptop with MS PowerPoint 07
and a Dell projector to display the lyrics. I set up the four songs in one
PPT presentation in sequential order and would LOVE to be able to focus on
Worshipping instead of having to manually advance the slides! I have
diligently searched for this answer and have used the chat support.
Now I'm turning to you for the solution.
My Goal:
Play the CD and set the first timings using the rehearsal timed
recording in MS Office PPT 07.
Stop it and Save it? Or, just pause it and wait to restart it when song #
2 begins?
I want to be able to use the projector's control remote to stop the slides
in between songs if necessary for announcements, etc...
Right now I have to start the rehearsal from the 1st song through the last
song without stopping. Even after painstakingly doing this full run I
could not get the timings to be in sync with the music!
It would seem that I should be able to play the first song and set the
timings for it and save it.
Repeat for each song.
Then control the start and stopping of them with the projector's remote
controller.
However, I have not been able to see the saved timings anywhere.
Can anyone help me with this problem????

First, I would not use Rehearse Timings. I would just use automatic slide
transitions that I input manually. Reharse Timings just doesn't seem to work
right.

Second, whether you use Rehearse Timings or not, synching slides to music is
not PPT's strong suit. See
