timing out when I type e-mails.

I just bought this laptop and when I type an E-mail the
screen times out and I lose the data before I can send
the message. It times out in 2 to 6 minutes approx.Whats
up with that? I get no error message. The screen just
goes blank.

Does it happen just with email? After the screen goes blank, what do
you do to bring the machine back to life? Does the machine "re-boot", or
is it just a blank screen? Since it's a new machine have you discussed
this with the vendor from which you bought it?
