Time Zone Issues

Hi

We are currently located in Barbados, which is in the Caribbean. Most of
our clients are located in North America and Canada, therefore the time zone
set on our Windows XP machines is Eastern Time. However now that we in the
Caribbean are ahead by one hour of the North Americans our system clocks are
not reflecting the correct time.

Basically I have my computer set to match the Eastern time zone for business
purposes however the system time on the clock should be an hour ahead.

Can I achieve this and if so, how?

Thanks

It's not clear what you want to do when you say that the computer is set
to Eastern time but the system time should be different. Windows only
does one time zone for everything.

Barbados is in GMT-4 but does not observe Daylight Saving Time. The East
coast of the U.S. is in GMT-5 but does observe DST. In the U.S.,
Daylight Saving Time begins each year at 2 a.m. on the second Sunday of
March and Standard Time begins each year at 2 a.m. on the first Sunday
of November. This year, Standard Time began last Sunday.

If your computers are set to Barbados Time, they will be the same as
Eastern time during the summer but one hour ahead during the winter.

The easiest way for you to deal with this is to just set Windows to use
Eastern Time and check the box to automatically adjust for Daylight
Saving Time. This way, your computer will have the same time as your
clients all year long, but will be different from the clock on the wall
and your wristwatch from November through March.

uncheck the prompt to use daylight savings time.
of course you would right click on the time display and choose adjust
date/time and then choose Time zone.
