Time sync

The event log on both of my PC have a warning that...

"The time service has not been able to synchronize the system time for 49152
seconds because none of the time providers has been able to provide a usable
time stamp. The system clock is unsynchronized."

I'm running a standard install of WinXP Pro and have never messed with time
server settings so this is a default set up. Anyone know what this means?
Does it just mean I haven't booted my PC for >49152 seconds?

Thanks,

Colin

I get this message after putting my computer into standby or hybernation. I
just manually resync the time periodically. I don't know why it does this
though. I have reloaded XP numerous times and I have always had the same
problem.

Let me know if you figure out a way to fix it!

Hi
Seems to be something wrong with the chosen timesserver for synchronizing
the pc-clock via internet.
Doubleclick your clock in the systemtray, go to 'Internet clock'-tab, here
you can turn off synchronizing via internet, or maybe try another
timesserver.

Open the time settings by the control panel or just right
click on the clock display-adjust time and date.
Or double click the clock...change the time server to one
that is working...here is a list...

Thanks for that. The default for WinXP Pro seem to be to sync to the time
server "time.windows.com".

I'll probably just turn off sync if I get too many errors.
