time sync error

When I try to sync my clock I get the following message: An error occurred
while Windows was syncronizing with time.windows.com. The time sample was
rejected because: The peer's stratum is less than the host's stratum. Can
someone please tell me how to fix this problem?

Due to many problems with that server, "time.windows.com" was always the
first thing to be changed on my WinXP systems. See if this article helps

"A list of the Simple Network Time Protocol (SNTP) time servers that are
available on the Internet" http://support.microsoft.com/kb/262680

Note that there are many NTP servers beyond that list as well.

Thank you very much for the prompt reply, but I also get an error message
when I use time.nist.gov as well. Any further suggestions?

time-a.nist.gov
seems to work well for me, suggest you try different ones until you find one
that works well for you.
