My Domain server is configured with windows2000 server SP 4.
My client is using windows xp.
Everyday when the client logs in to the server he gets this message
"Time difference exists between the client and the server"
After correcting the date in the client PC and reboot he is able to connect
to the server. Please clarify and steps to do to rectify the above problem in
detail .

Thanks

Tip:NEVER post an email addy in newsgroups, spammers will grab it,
and....well, you DO need V1*gRA, don't you?

The reason for the logon problem is that Kerderos authentication relies on
clocks being right, to within say 10min.

Firstly, check that the timezones on the client and server match, and that
both ARE either set to use automatic sumertime (DST) or both are not.

If despite all this the time won't stay right, this usually means that the
battery on the mobo is getting low. This is usually a 3v lithium coincell.

You can sync the client to the server with either the Windows Time service,
or by including a NET TIME \\SERVERNAME /SET /YES command in a logon script.
