I sent a zip file to a mate in Oz by email, he wrote back
and thanked me for the Thumbs.db file included in my zip!
I never sent it, but he recons when he scanned the zip
for viruses he found it in there. Any idea what it's for,
the zip was full of images I'd downloaded from the 'net.
Thanks.
George

Hi,

Thumbs.db holds thumbnail viewing information about the files in the folder
in which it is found. When you zipped the files up that you sent, you
accidentally included this normally hidden system file.

Thumbs.db is a file put in any folder when you look at it in Thumbnail
mode, so as to cache the thumbnails and save regenerating them next
time. It is a hidden file, but if you selected all for zipping probably
got included
