Thumbnails do not match the picture

I have encountered a weird problem. When downloading pictures from my digital
camera, once I go to the directory where they are supposed to be. They are
not there, at least according to the thumbnails. However if I open a
thumbnail, it is a totaly different picture than the thumbnail. If I copy,
rename, or anything the thumbnail stays the same.
 
I don't remember the FOLDER showing the correct jpg.....as in any exact
order....Isn't THUMBNAIL from the VIEW-item(??)..
Photo's are Downloaded to a FOLDER....that's how my PC-operates.
