This "Working on your request" NONSENSE Has Got to Stop...

There are unique groups for each of the three applications
windows.vista.mail
- Windows Vista Mail
windows.live.mail.desktop
- Windows Live Mail
public.msn.discussion
-MSn Explorer, Windows Live Hotmail, MSn Legacy pop3 accounts, MSn
partnered accounts e.g Qwest, ATT etc, free Msn.com and hotmail.com
accounts

There is some shade of gray for http access of premium or grandfathered
Msn.com/hotmail.com addresses when using OE and OL for send/retreival
that occasionally overlaps into the OE and OL newsgroups instead of the
msn group.

The best results for issues are usually achieved by posting to the
appropriate newsgroup, not crossposting in the future once one is no
longer ignorant of the correct forum, and realizing that only volunteers
like yourself not msft/msn personal participate in these groups.

I'm currently struggling with a non functional Windows Live Mail after
launch resulting in a WLM windows with a black screen on an XP Pro
machine..the last version works fine on another and Vista)
Once I gather more information and test a few other options, I would
seek help in the live.mail.desktop group, which would be the appropriate
forum.

Ranting and dissatisfaction can be common in these forums, but please do
understand the earlier Salvation Army/Levii Strauss analogy(not
crossposted) but is available for your review in msn.public.

OMG - are you for real?

So, according to your so-called "rules" I have posted to 2 and maybe
even 3 (based on your "shades of grey" comment that I snipped) of the
correct groups for this issue (out of the 3 that I chose to bring it
too). Dude! Again: ARE YOU FOR REAL? Why in the world would you be
MORE focused on this nonsense and (seemingly) NOT AT ALL focused on
the fact that there are - right this very minute - a series of GLOBAL
(non-local) issues/defects impacting the use of the Windows Live
Hotmail product? Why???

My only hope is that someone FOR REAL from Microsoft is reading this,
that they know something's wrong, and that they are working hard to
fix it (as opposed to someone like you simply reading it and doing
nothing --- you: a mostly nameless, faceless, and ineffectual self-
appointed "MVP" who, let's face it, really doesn't have a clue).

Regardless, this was my last post on this issue.

Listen, there's something VERY WRONG with Windows Live Hotmail. And
you're clueless. And that's pretty much about it.

It's really very simple. The regular responders here are Windows Live
Mail experts, not Hotmail experts. If you want to be heard by Hotmail
experts you need to post this issue in public.msn.discussion.

I was going to suggest you stop ranting like a moron

I think when this fellow says "FOR REAL" he is looking for a Microsoft
developer, test engineer or program manager, suspecting that "MVP" is
nothing more than a bone thrown to representatives of high paying corporate
accounts, not necessarily "experts" in anything. Could be. Not all people
using "MVP" have been as helpful as ...winston. Nevertheless, there is good
information in microsoft.public.es.msn.hotmail also. I am sure the French
group has good people too.

Saludos cordiales,

Your confusion on the correct group is understandable..even Mr. Bolger
was a bit uncertain.

- Live Mail is a separate application than Hotmail(i.e. wrong group)
- Windows Mail(Vista) is a separate application without Hotmail
capability(i.e. wrong group again)
- As far as the shades of gray groups - the issue that you've
explained is not centered on OE or OL(i.e. wrong groups again)
- there's only one group left, if selected it would be 1 out of 4 or
5 in the math dept., if still elusive, realizing that Florida is a long
way from Kansas, an email to L.F Baum could provide the correct color of
the road to travel.

OMG! Shut up, you twit! Posting to an "es" or an "fr" group, for me,
wasn't an option. I don't speak French or Spanish and I didn't feel
like running everything through a translator.

You've been most unhelpful, continuing to tell me to post to groups
that don't exist and continuing to tell me to post to a group I had
already posted to. Since the very beginning, this was posted to
microsoft.public.msn.discussion. And not one so-called "MVP" stepped
up to answer the question. I did finally hear back from MS Tech
Support, though, and they acknowledged the problem and said that there
are ongoing efforts to fix it. Using the "Classic" version, for now,
seems to be the only option when it hangs. And it only hangs at times
of peak usage.

I checked back a few months and many of you folks were the same group
of POSERS who offered me ZERO assistance when I was trying to
import .pst files into WINDOWS MAIL on Vista. Supremely annoying. And
especially annoying on this go-around. This was absolutely the very
last time I would consider these groups to be a viable avenue for
expert assistance.

And you, winston - clearly, you are an "MVP" in name only. Self-
appointed, not helpful, and seldom confronted by your dissatisfied
"customers" here (or, I would guess by your condescending tone, seldom
confronted by anyone else either). I guess I changed all that. In
summary, I can offer you only two words: YOU SUCK.

OK, now I'm done.

Having some trouble snipping, following along on multi-post threads
and/or recalling what you read.
- I've yet to suggest any foreign group.

As much as you'd like others to believe, your 'pst file import into
Vista Windows Mail question' in these same microsoft groups was answered
accurately and properly. If you really checked back as mentioned, you
would have found your 3/8/07 post on your final actions that validated
others' suggestions and thanking everyone for their help

If you don't care for these forums it might be time to seek refuge in
some of your other regular 'alt.' hunting grounds(.slack,
tv.days-of-our.lives, .star-trek, .politics) as Jim, Jahlon, jala*an or
whatever other aka of your choosing...until then stay close to your
friends Dorothy, the Lion and the Tin Man they really do know the way to
Oz.
