Hi there,
Today I used Windows update and it told me that there where 4 security
downloads. So far so good. After a 11,8 mb download (no problem as I'm on
cable). After downloading the install process started. Here the problems
starts. I got a messages that the wm java something was not meant for this
machine or I needed a and higher Service pack or OS. I was told to reboot my
machine. No problem... but now the problems starts.
First my machine wouldn't start... meaning the boot went on until the end of
the second processbar and then it rebooted. So after 10 reboots with same
result I figured something is wrong. So I did a repair install but still
same thing. Rebooting and this time I also got a BSOD with a messages saying
something like... check your hardware and try again.
Then I did another repair install and after that W2K finally booted as
supposed too. Something that made me really happy as I would hate to
reinstall AGAIN (2 months since last time I did it and it took me a week
before everything was installed and set)
Now the real problem comes... I lost my network connections!!!!!!!!
Shouldn't be a problem but it really is because I'm not able to make a new
connection! If I dbl click the "make new connection" and follow the wizard
NOTHING. It's like something is missing.
If I look in the event viewer I see 2 errors... some 100 times or more from
today.
Service control manager (event ID 7023) and RasMan (event ID 20035)
and then the one I think has to do with it... EVENT ID 20151... The Control
Protocol EAP in the point to point protocol module
C\WINNT\System32\rasapp.dll returned an error while inntializing. The
network request is not supported.
What should I do?
Best regards
