Thinkpad and screen resolution

My IBM Thinkpad is only allowing me a maximum screen resolution of 1024x768.
I'd love to get more into the screen, which I am able to on other systems.

Is there a driver or something I can load? The display selected is called
ATI Mobility Radeon 7500, with no other choice.

I'm on XP Pro and the Thinkpad is T40.

Your Thinkpad most likely has a screen with 1024 x 768 tiny
tranistors. Unless you're prepared to attach a few rows and
columns of transistors, you cannot increase its resolution.

Some drivers allow you to set a higher resolution by running
the screen in a "zoom" fashion, i.e. by showing you a window
of 1024 x 764 pixels. To access the pixels outside this frame,
you would need to scroll up/down/left/right. Not a very
satisfactory way of running things . . .

Alot of laptops including Thinkpads went up to 1600 x 1200 resolution. If
that's the case here, it should be a simple case of changing it in Display
Properties>Settings.
