hi all , i have XP pro sp2 , my problem is that no matter what i set my theme
to ( including the xp default blue theme ) when i do a restart i am unable to
stop win xp from loading windows classic desktop theme. so each time i do a
restart i have to go back into themes and apply the one i want. is there
somewhere in the registry that i can get xp to load something else as the
default theme??. thanks for your time.

hi Carey , i tried what you suggested but still the same. although i should
have clearified that my theme icons do load but not my task bar or wall paper
or control panel. task bar , control panel for some reason is always classic.
if i right click on desktop and go to properties\themes i can load xp default
blue but if i try to load any of my other themes it gives me an "error
loading theme. access denied , C:\windows\resources\themes\whatever theme i
pick.

also after restart if i bring up display properties \ themes it reads "
modified theme " in the box but when i restarted computer i had the default
windows xp blue in the box and had applied it. if i go to appearance it
reads " windows classic " for windows and buttons and " windows standard "
for color scheme. this has been very frustrating.
