the windows xp defrag prog error free ?

You shouldn't experience any problems with the built-in defragger. Tip:
disconnect from the Internet/LAN (broadband users), shut down all your
running applications (including any anti-virus/firewall software) and other
processes that are running that are non-essential (CTRL+ALT+DEL task
manager) before you do the defrag because defrag can't move fragments of
running applications.

Does the defrag program that comes with XP defrag without causing any
problems with installed programs ? Or is something like Defragmenter Pro
Plus do a better job ?

Thanks for any help
