Hi everybody

I was wondering how to stop this thing coming up - whenever I load up Excel
or Word or Powerpoint it says Please wait while Windows configures Microsoft
Office 2000 Premium. I never knew we even had that program but my dad might
have got it but the main thing is HOW DO I STOP IT FROM COMING UP??

Is it asking you for a disk/media?

You might post this in a group for MS Office issues.

Here is my guess based on the information you've provided so far...

When Office 2000 Premium was installed, the person installing it left
several default items as (Install on First Use). So, I assume that you
Excel or Word is trying to bring up the Office Assistant or something else
that wants to install from the CD. The solution is to insert your Office
2000 Premium CD and let it install whatever it wants to install.

The only other time I've seen this is when the end-user had a mixture of
Office versions. For example, they had Office 2000 Premium with Outlook
2002 (XP).

Something to try is to set the user inside of the office apps. This drove me
nuts for quite a bit, until I found that when it occurs, you need to set the
user name in the application.
