Hello!

I've installed XP on my computer with motherboard Jetway P4XFCU. It has
onboard AC'97 sound.
After installing XP and drivers for onboard sound everything seems to be
working good. Media player or anything playing sound is working, but... But
even if you turn sound volume on maximum there's no sound from the speakers
(or even from headphones).

Any ideas?

Thanks

Forgot to add that everything was OK with sound in Windows 98, before
upgrading to Windows XP.

Is everything playing sound is working ... or is there no sound from
speakers ? Is there any sound from anywhere ? Jym

Go to Sound and Audio Devices and see if mute box is checked. See if there
is audio software for your sound device and check settings . If still no joy
go to Start / Run and type dxdiag. Run audio test. Good Luck. Jym

There's NO SOUND from anywhere. System tells that device is working properly
and you can play any multimedia files. But there's still silence from
speakers...

I was trying to install different drivers: downloadaded from VIA, downloaded
from motherboard munufacturer's site (Jetway), other AC97 drivers. But only
one of drivers is working properly. It is C-Media AC97 9738-39a driver. Now
everithing works fine.
