Headphones working speaker not working :(

hi all,
i have ACER 3002NLC Laptop, it has got inbuilt speakers SOUND BLASTER
PRO.Earlier when i purchased it, it used to work fine till one year.But
one fine day the sound from the speakers stopped coming, i though its
driver failure & reinstalled it, but it didnt work.Then i checked using
headphones & i was able to listen.But after that day a lot of time my
sound driver has got crashed(no particular frequency, about 8-10 times
in last 3 months..) & everytime i reinstalled it started working
fine.The sound driver i am using is REALTEK AC'97 AUDIO.
Can someone tell me what possibly could be the reason behind it ? or is
it some hardware problem due to which headphones are working & speakers
not ?
PS: Once or twice in last few months some sound came out of
speakers(just for a second or two)

Hello,

Do the speakers work when playing an audio CD?

Its possible that the connection between the speaker and the audio device
has worn out. Or that the speaker has "died".

If all else fails, try contacting Acer support.

Thanx 4 ur reply...btw i tried playing audio cd but alas..the same
result i.e i can hear it thru headphones bt nt speakers...
