The set deafalt printer changes

I have a hp7300 alll in one printer at my office which is set as my default
prnter in windows xp prof sp2. This has worked fine for some time. Then I
installed my home printer Hp3845 but did not set it to be the defaul printer.
This too works fine at home but when in the office the 7300 will stop being
the default printer randomly though the day.
I have deinstalled both printers and reinstalled using the latest HP
software off the net. I have tried each printer to be the first installed -
no joy.
I have contacted local support at Microsoft and Hp and each blames the other
and refer me to the other.
Remember this as soon as I delete the home printer all works as it sould.

If there is anyony who may be able to assist, your help will be greatly
appreciated.

To clarify: Just considering your office setup, is the HP7300 printer
the only printer attached to your computer and the only printer for
which there is a driver installed?

Hi Tom

Yes the 7300 is theonly printer at the office attached via USB. The hp3845
driver must be in there but is not in use when I am in the office

When the 7300 stops being the default printer, what takes its place?
