The printer queue is full.

I just brought up a brand new XP install with 2 printers
attached. Both auto-detected beautifully and showed up in
the printer control panel with good model numbers and lpt
ports. However, when I try to print it fails.

When I try to print the test page from the printer control
panel, it gives me a message saying it failed and that the
"The printer queue is full." Any ideas?

I found the answer.

I restarted the Print Spooler and all was good. (I had also
re-auto-detected the printers but I think this was
irrelevant, because I got the same error afterwards.)

The magic was control panel->admin tools->service - select
print spooler: stop, start.
