Network printer print queue refresh

Howcan I stop the printer queue for a network printer from refreshing every
few seconds?
The printer is set to keep printed documents but it is very difficult to
pick a specific print job when the queue keeps refreshing.
Thanks

the spooler notification mechanism on the client machine is in polling mode.
When the windows firewall is set on the client, the File and Print sharing
tcp ports must be open for the spooler on the remote machine to send data to
the client. Be sure to set the scope to include all computers.

Once you have this setup stop and start the spooler service on the client.
