Verizon Setup - compare your setup to this tab-by-tab setup (only need 3 of
the tabs):
General tab: Enter "Mail Account" (this is just a reference - whatever you
want to call it)
User Information: Name (your name), Email address (your full e-address)
Check the box "Include this account when receiving mail or synchronizing"
(generally desired option)
Apply
Servers tab: Server Information: "My incoming mail server is a - POP3 -
server", Incoming Mail (POP3) =
incoming.verizon.net and Outgoing mail (SMTP) = outgoing.verizon.net
(NOTE: do NOT check those SSL boxes
on the in / out ports)
Incoming Mail Server: Email username: Enter ONLY the first part of your
e-address - BEFORE the @ symbol, and
select the radio button "Log on using clear text authentication"
Outgoing Mail Server: Check the box "My server requires authentication" and
click on the "Settings" button - select
the radio button "Log on using" and in "Account name" and enter just the
first part of your e-address (BEFORE the
@ symbol ONLY)
Apply
Advanced tab: Server Port Numbers: Outgoing mail (SMTP) = 587
Incoming mail (POP3) = 110
Delivery: Check the box, "Leave a copy of messages on server" and "Remove
fromm server when deleted
from 'Deleted Items'" (both are generally a desired options)
Apply
Okay (all the way out)
If you still get errors, please copy and paste them in here so we can see
where it went wrong.
Please get a friend to show you how to copy and paste. The people here are
too busy to have time to help with things such as that.
Call Verizon for help with email. I hope you get a competent Verizon
representative. Some of them can be ignorant and useless, except for raising
blood pressure. I think you should hope to get someone in India to help;
they are probably more likely to help than some of the ones that clearly are
not in India.
What exactly do you mean by "use Microsoft windows"?
That is an operating system. Did you want to use the email program
