When sending either mail, or from HP printer, I get a ' Host POP3 (or SMTP)
could not be found. Verify you have entered server name correctly
Vista Home Premium 64 bit
Server SMTP
Protocol: SMTP
Port: 25
Secure SSL
Socket error: 11001
Error #: 0x800CCCOD
My email is Hotmail, and also verizon. Both seem to work
Any Ideas. Might be easier to tell me how to correctly set up my Win Live
account.
Thanks
CB

The correct server name is not "SMTP" or "POP3".
You must obtain the correct server names from your mail provider.
For Verizon, see
http://www.verizon.net/central/vzc.portal?_nfpb=true&_pageLabel=vzc_help_contentDisplay&objId=42096

For Hotmail, see
http://mailcall.spaces.live.com/Blog/cns!CC9301187A51FE33!49799.entry
Use port 587 rather than port 25 for the SMTP server.

Windows Mail's new account wizard is hard-coded to reject Hotmail
and Live/MSN addresses. So, when you enter your email address initially,
use a fake one, such as (e-mail address removed). After the account setup is
complete, go back and correct your email address.
