The Gimp 2.2.0 - The GNU Image Manipulation Program.

About:
The GIMP is the GNU Image Manipulation Program. It is a freely distributed
piece of software suitable for such tasks as photo retouching, image
composition and image authoring. It can be used as a simple paint program,
an expert quality photo retouching program, an online batch processing
system, a mass production image renderer, a image format converter, etc.

Changes:
This is the first release in the new stable GIMP series. Version 2.2 is an
update of GIMP 2.0 and provides full backward compatibility. Plug-ins
written for GIMP 2.0 can be used without recompiliation. Very many
improvements were made.

Apparently these are difficult URLs to get across. ;)

you will need to have the GTK+ 2 runtime environment installed for Gimp to
work (install GTK first) I'd recommend installing the current GTK 2.4.14
release (you may even need it to run the Gimp) The gimp helpfile is another
separate download, also available from the following link.

Just scroll down the page, all the files you need to get up and running with
Gimp are there.

There is a newsgroup for Gimp (all platforms covered) comp.graphics.app.gimp
where you can get further help with installation/usage enquiries...
