The GIMP is the GNU Image Manipulation Program. It is a freely distributed
piece of software suitable for such tasks as photo retouching, image
composition and image authoring. It can be used as a simple paint program,
an expert quality photo retouching program, an online batch processing
system, a mass production image renderer, a image format converter, etc.

Changes:
This is the first stable release that is officially supported not only on

rob, is that something relatively new? i used to run an older version
of gimp but it didn't need anything like this...

It use to be incorporated with the setup files making it 10-12 Mb and if and
to upgrade you had to still download the GTK files now you only download them
if you need them. Or something like that...

to upgrade you had to still download the GTK files now you only download them
if you need them. Or something like that...
