the find function crashes

when i use the find function, it says "not responding" and the program
closes. How can I stop it from happening?

What version of Word?

What is the search string/parameters you're using?

Do you have multiple languages enabled in Word?

Does it happen in only one document or in all documents?

If you hold the ctrl key when starting Word does the same problem occur?
