The file vga.sys is corrupterd on setup

Trying to re-install windows XP and booting from CD. Setup
starts and starts loading drivers. After a few minutes a
error message appears "The file vga.sys is corrupted ...
press any key to restart". This system was working well
last week with Windows XP. Reformatted the hard drive
again FAT32 for a clean Upgrade install and I can't seem
to get past this error message on several attempts. The
disk is free of scratches and look new still.

Any suggestions?
