Windows Vista the file is not a valid compound file

Hi

I am new and need things spelling out easy to me, i have a problem with a document that is attatched to my e-mail, when i open it, it says ERROR CODE OX800300FB: ......DOC IS NOT A VALID COMPOUND FILE, how can i open this and save it, i have tried but with no sucess, i can save it but not able to open and read....

PLEASE HELP.......ARHHHHHHHHHHH

Hi Donna, welcome to the forums :).

What is the file extension of the document you are opening (i.e. .docx) and what software are you using to open it (for example, Microsoft Word 2007).
