The client could not establish a connection to the remote computer

I am running windows XP-Pro, SP2. I recently installed a new drive and
re-installed my operating system above. Further prior to doing this I was
having no problem connecting from my work computer to my home. Now, I am
recieving a error message noted in the sujbect line. Microsoft provided me
with a hotfix article #321624, which should have resolved my problem, as this
article discribes the symptoms I am experiancing. The fix did not run because
the files on my system were more current then the fix it's self.

Any ideas?

I think I would consider a repair install. It sounds to me like something is
hosed in the original installation. Note the warnings on the page...
