ready 2 reinstall

I use my windows xp home computer to connect to works
windows 2000 terminal server. It worked fine with no
hitches for a long time and now out of the blue it will
not connect anymore. I get the error REMOTE DESTOP
DISCONNECTED the client could not establish a
connnection to the remote computer. I have Tried numerous
things like checking the services and they are running I
did a system restore and that didnt help, I then updated
the OS through the install disk and that didnt help have
even downloaded the terminal services client from
microsoft and had the same effect. more and more im
thinking the problem might be with the fact that someone
was poking around in the registry the day before and
possibly deleted something. Or that it might be a setting
on my comp that is not allowing it to go through. It did
work fine so hopefully this is a fixable problem. Others
at my office can connect fine to the remote server. but
mine doesnt even think about it ..just gives me an
instant error message.Im hoping to not have to reinstall
the OS from scratch and am not even sure at this point if
I have to or if that will help at all. any help would be
much appreciated as I am using this for work and am
falling behind rapidly. Thanx in advance

How soon does it disconnect? Immediately? or does it even connect at
all?

Same issue here ...

I am having the same issue here the last two reboots this week. It doesn't try to connect at all.

I have been rebooting this 2003 server remotely for over a year without issue.

What can I do to be able to reboot again remotely? And is this indicating a software or hardware issue?

Thanks
