(tfswctrl.exe) spywere or what?

Hello All,

I don't know if this is the proper place to post this, if it isn't
maybe someone can tell me where I should post it?

I'm not sure if I have a warm/virus or what but when I installed
Windows SP 2, a couple of days after I started getting this error
message below every time I boot up. The file that is involved
(tfswctrl.exe) is part of HP's DLA drag/drop program for their CD
Writer Plus 9300 and is listed in startup when I opened msconfig. It
even does it with all other startup items disabled and if I disable
it, it stops the error message. (or when I uninstall DLA it stops.)

As you can see it shows it as(tfswctrl.exe.mdmp) and the error message
which I cannot find anywhere (Google search) that I've looked not even
on my computer. There was a spywere web site that called
(tfswctrl.exe) spywere but according to HP it is a legitimate file. I
have installed/uninstalled so many times I have lost count and HP has
been no help. I cannot find anything on Microsoft's web pages either.

I am running Norton AntiVirus fully undated and all of my firewalls
are in place.

Any help would be appreciated, thank you

MDMP is an XP trouble report file (dumpfile?) to be sent to Microsoft for evaluation.
Maybe they can help you - - it looks like an SP2/HP glitch to me.

As you can see I did do a Google Search and everything I found were
spywere companies claiming it was spywere and they wanted to sell me
their products.

Thank you,

As you can see I did do a Google Search and everything I found were
spywere companies claiming it was spywere and they wanted to sell me
their products.

A couple of them have names similar to adaware, and even have programs that
look just like it except for color changes (eg: main color is red instead
of blue). Sometimes I wonder if these guys are just out to make a quick
buck or actually run by adware/spyware companies themselves.
