Importing saved files to Movie Maker

I have been having a problem with the Movie Maker. It no longer imports any
files I want from my saved downloaded videos. I always get the following
error messages

Event Type: BEX P1:moviemk.exe P2:2.0.3312.0 P3:3e03803 P4:comctl32.dll
P5: 6.0.2900.5512 P6: 4802a094 P7: 0006d0dc P8: c0000409 P9: 00000000

and in the technical information window

C:\DOCUME~1\RJMICH~1\LOCALS~1\Temp\WER993c.dir00\moviemk.exe.mdmp
C:\DOCUME~1\RJMICH~1\LOCALS~1\Temp\WER993c.dir00\appcompat.txt

Can anyone there tell me how to correct this problem so I can once more use
my Movie Maker program?

Have you used these same video files previously, or is this the first time
you are using them?
What file type are they?
Where did they come from?
Have you made any changes to your pc since they last worked,
installed/uninstalled/updated anything?
